Beef Goulash



Aromatic, delicious and satisfying goulash to enjoy with your friends and family. You can add more vegetables and spices to make it more like a stew or enjoy simply like this.



(Serves 4)


Ingredients:


500 gram beef, cut into cubes or pieces

2 medium onions, chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon four

3 tablespoon tomato paste

2-3 bay leaves

1 teaspoon of ground paprika

Salt, pepper to taste

3 tablespoons of oil

500 – 600 ml water or beef stock

Fresh herbs (optional)


Method:


In a large skillet heat up oil then add beef and brown for 5 minutes. Add onion and garlic; sauté for about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add flour, paprika and season with salt and pepper, continue to sauté for another 2 minutes. Stir in tomato paste then pour in water or stock and simmer on the low heat for 1 – 1 1/2 hour, stirring from time to time. Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.

  2. When I was in Hungary I picked up tubes of Paprika paste- thanks for jogging my memory. I'll be pulling them out.
