Aromatic, delicious and satisfying goulash to enjoy with your friends and family. You can add more vegetables and spices to make it more like a stew or enjoy simply like this.
(Serves 4)
Ingredients:
500 gram beef, cut into cubes or pieces
2 medium onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon four
3 tablespoon tomato paste
2-3 bay leaves
1 teaspoon of ground paprika
Salt, pepper to taste
3 tablespoons of oil
500 – 600 ml water or beef stock
Fresh herbs (optional)
Method:
In a large skillet heat up oil then add beef and brown for 5 minutes. Add onion and garlic; sauté for about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add flour, paprika and season with salt and pepper, continue to sauté for another 2 minutes. Stir in tomato paste then pour in water or stock and simmer on the low heat for 1 – 1 1/2 hour, stirring from time to time. Sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
This is a lovely dish, and I like that you shared an easy way to make them. I love beef ghoulash, now I can make my own.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Hungary I picked up tubes of Paprika paste- thanks for jogging my memory. I'll be pulling them out.
